Heat pump + solar panels + ventillation system with heat recovery
AThe passive HVAC system consists of a heat pump with solar panels and a ventillation system with heat recovery. The heat pump makes the warm water for floor heating and domestic hot water supply, while only uses three-quarter of energy of a conventional electric boiler. The solar collectors also help in to the making of hot water, thus reducing the energy consumption of the heat pump even further.
We’re offering two systems for our passive houses.
One of them is a compact air-water heat pump, which is very quiet during its function, and resembles of a large double door fridge. (e.g., Stiebel Eltron LWZ 403 Sol). This heat pump prepares domestic hot water, under floor heating and ventilation with heat recovery. The solar collectors connected to this unit together with the ventilation system. The heat pump takes and blows out air through flexible pipes with diameter of 30 cm. The inlet and outlet pipes need to be set 3m from one another.
The second system, we offer air-water heat pump with solar collector (e.g. Stiebel Eltron WPL series, WPL 10 , WPL 13, WPL 15, WPL 18. WPL 20). Here, the air-water heat pump is an aesthetic outdoor unit. This produces energy by using outdoor air directly to the hot water. This outdoor unit is connected through an insulated pipe to the buffer water tank in the building. The solar collectors are also connected to this water tank. The ventilation system with heat recovery is made by a separate unit (e.g.Stiebel Eltron LWZ 270 Plus).
